How colors may effect us. Or, Who needs beige?

Have you ever been told that you couldn’t wear a certain color after 40? That you need to fit in? How infuriating! This article will show you that you can have color & shine, no matter what your age.

Colors make us feel better. The colors can be incorporated into our clothing choices. Or, our paint choices. We don’t have to wear only neutrals after a certain age to be appropriate.

Warm Colors Excite Us

Warm colors have a tendency to stimulate our senses & wake us up. Reds, oranges, and yellows are warm colors. They have been scientifically proven to stimulate our passions and our appetites. That’s why fast food restaurants often choose reds and yellows in their logos and signage.

The big golden M is yellow for a reason. The trays in many fast food restaurants are red. They want you to eat and buy some more.

Yellow-greens are warm, also. Think chartreuse or lime. They’re electrifying colors.

Cool Colors can Calm us

Cool colors, like blues, greens, and purples are cool colors. They may calm us and make us feel at peace. The sky is blue and the grass is green; nature has a calming effect.

Colors of clothing can be combined and mixed according to our mood. We may feel particularly excited and grab that red scarf or that creamy yellow shawl.

We may want to have a calm color for our bedroom and a warm, vibrant color for the kitchen.

But, we are never forced to choose beiges and creams just because of our age. Live life in color!
